The committee on mentorship from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) visited the campus of Augustine University on the 1st of November, 2016. The visit was a follow up on an earlier of Augustine University to UNILAG on the 18 th of August, 2016. The meeting is part of the mentorship process directed by the National Universities Commission between both institutions with UNILAG being the mentor.
The Vice-Chancellor of AUI, Professor Steve Afolami received the Unilag delegation led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics and Research, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe at the Senate Chambers. At the meeting, the DVC Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe engaged the Vice Chancellor of Augustine University on a range of issues that bother on the faculties as well as the courses offered in Augustine University; the academic staff at the faculties, the student population and library facilities.
The Vice-Chancellor in his response provided the necessary information in clear terms while buttressing the ICT complaint mode of operation in AUI. Various questions were asked by other members of the Unilag delegation and appropriate responses were provided by the Vice-Chancellor.
The team was later conducted on a tour of the facilities at the faculties as well as the library. The Vice-Chancellor thanked the team for their time while promising to leverage on the useful suggestions. Present at the meeting were Professor Steve Afolami- Vice-Chancellor, Augustine University, Mrs Margaret Aziba-Registrar, Mr Alabi Sunday-Bursar. The UNILAG delegation comprised, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe-Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics and Research, Professor Supo Jegede- Dean of the Faculty of Education, Professor Muyiwa Falaiye-Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Adedokun Adekunle- Dean of the Faculty of Science. Also in attendance were Professor Rasheed Ojikutu- Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Wale Okunuga, Director of Academic Planning, Professor Risikat Dauda the Ag Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr (Mrs) Taiwo Ipaye, the Registrar.
